The Bridgeport Middle School boys cross country team
finished third in South Preston Middle School’s “Down
on the Farm” Invitational held Sept. 16. The Braves
girls finished sixth.
For the boys, Trey McCutcheon was the top individual
performer. His time of 11 minutes and 59 seconds was
good enough for fourth place among 40 runners that
participated.
Daniel Coles came in ninth in the event with a time of
12 minutes and 29 seconds. The rest of the BMS boys
that placed in the six-team meet were Matt Salsberry
(18th, 13 minutes and 6 seconds), Andy Klenk (23rd, 13
minutes and 34 seconds), Seth Edgell (28th, 14 minutes
and 3 seconds) and Jacob Knicely (33rd, 14 minutes and
51 seconds).
On the girls side, Tiffany Oldaker was the top runner
in the 40-person, six-team meet. Oldaker finished with
a time of 15 minutes and 48 seconds to finish 21st.
Teammate Sarah Salsberry came in 27th with a time of
17 minutes even.
The rest of the Braves that competed were Amanda
Wilcox (38th, 20 minutes and 41 seconds), Sara Swanson
(39th, 22 minutes and 35 seconds) and Brooke Harvey
(40th, 24 minutes and 39 seconds).
