From Staff Reports
Although Bridgeport High School’s boys or girls cross
country teams didn’t win last week’s Founder's Day
Invitational in Shinnston, the teams did manage to
take the top spots on both sides of the ledger.
Sophomore Kate Merinar and freshman Jenna Fogg led the
girls division with a one-two finish. Merinar posted
the meet's top time of 20 minutes and 37 seconds. Fogg
was next with a time of 21 minutes and 14 seconds.
Despite their times, it wasn't enough to top Philip
Barbour. The Colts managed to take spots three through
six to gain the win.
For the boys, the Indians also had the meet's top
finisher. Ben Booth led the way for the Tribe with a
time of 17 minutes and 47 seconds.
Booth's efforts weren't enough to upend Lincoln. The
Cougars won the meet by placing five runners in the
top seven positions.
No other information on the cross country teams were
available at press time. Coach Julie Hartley did not
respond to a request for comments and information. |
